Beloved Son, Father, Brother, and Friend
Gerald Wade Cochran, age 52, of Pampa, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by family.
Born on May 23, 1973, in Borger, Texas, Gerald was the cherished only son of Eddie and Patricia Cochran, and the youngest of four children. His sisters doted on him throughout his life, forming a close-knit family bond.
A lifelong resident of Pampa, Gerald graduated with the PHS Class of 1992. Shortly after graduation, he began his dedicated career in the oilfield and maintenance industries. He spent many years performing bladework as a maintainer for Scout, later known as Mock, and continued his career with Top of Texas Oilfield, where he served as a truck pusher. Gerald was respected by his coworkers for his strong work ethic, skills, and positive attitude.
Growing up, Gerald had a heart for horses and a gift for building, whether shaping wood in carpentry or assembling computers with precision. His curiosity for innovation led him to embrace emerging technologies, especially the creative frontier of 3D printing.
Known for his friendly nature and love of conversation, Gerald could spend hours on the phone while multitasking around the house. He was devoted to his three dogs, Zeus, Venus, and Jessie, treating them as cherished family members. Gerald was a loving son, always ready to lend a hand to his parents, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Gerald was preceded in death by his grandparents, Winefred “Bunny” and Carl Anderson, and Opal and Lester Cochran.
He is survived by his parents, Eddie and Patricia Cochran of Pampa; two sons, Devan Wade Cochran and wife Casey and Jonathan Polendo; a daughter, Shaylee Helton and husband Landon, all of Pampa; three sisters, Angela Walker and husband Charlie of Pampa, Jennifer Ramirez and husband Fabian of Big Lake Texas, and Rosanna Voss and husband Chase of Pampa; five grandchildren, Brantley, Emerson, Asher, Kennedy, and Malley; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved him dearly and will miss him always.
Gerald’s life will be honored in a private graveside service, and he will be laid to rest in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family has entrusted Winegeart Funeral Home with his care.
