Ginger Nell Reid Duncan, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 21, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas. Born on May 12, 1947, in Durant, Oklahoma, to Betty and Ralph Reid, Sr., Ginger spent her early years in Pampa, Texas, where she attended Pampa High School.
Ginger began her career as a bank teller and later as secretary at the Texas Department of Transportation, where she met her husband of nearly 41 years, Joe Duncan. They married on January 29, 1981, allowing her to stay home as a devoted housewife and mother.
Ginger had a passion for crafting, gardening, and finding bargains at garage sales and playing Pokeno with friends. She was a proud and faithful grandmother, always making it a point to attend her grandchildren’s activities. Her enthusiasm for Christmas was unmatched; she loved cooking, decorating, hosting parties, and ensuring everyone had a stocking at the family gathering. Every holiday was an opportunity for Ginger to bring her family together.
Traveling and camping with Joe were among her favorite pastimes, and her cake decorating skills, honed through classes, brightened countless family celebrations. A devoted member of Highland Baptist Church, Ginger’s faith was evident in her love for the Lord and her family. She cherished every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Ginger now rejoins her beloved husband, Joe, her parents, Ralph and Betty Reid as well as a brother, Ralph Reid, Jr in Heaven.
Her memory will be treasured by her children, Amanda Copeland and her husband Ed of Amarillo, Alana Etchison and her husband Larry of Pampa, and Curt Duncan and his wife Mindy of Mobeetie; her brother, Vince Reid and his wife Deanna of Madill, OK; as well as her grandchildren, Colby Copeland and Demi Read of Amarillo, Haley Casey and her husband Brandon of Amarillo, Hayden Duncan and his wife Morgan of Mobeetie, Gatlin Duncan and his wife Shaylie of Clarendon, Shelbie Watson of Amarillo, Kelsey Smith and her husband Trevor of Pampa, Michelle Reddic and her husband Genesis of Lubbock, and Adam Etchison of Houston, and the apples of her eye, her great grandchildren, Kamden Read, Kelbi Copeland, Kreed Copeland, Elliot Casey, Duncan Casey, Chris Duncan, Stetson Duncan, Jaylie Duncan, Tillie Duncan, Audrey Smith, Nora Smith and Ryland Reddic.
