BUSHLAND - The Pampa Hustlin’ Harvesters (5-5) traveled to Bushland on Tuesday where they knocked off the Falcons with a 53-47 win.

The Harvesters outscored the Falcons 21-3 in the third quarter, setting them in position to take the win.

“We really stepped up our defense in the third quarter,” Head Coach Braydon Barker said. “We got a lot of deflections and steals, which led to easy baskets for us on the other end.”

Junior Jose Alonzo led the team in scoring with 17 points along with three treys, eight total rebounds, an assists, four steals and three deflections; Senior Bryce Lynn had eight points with a three, went 1-1 from the stripe and had a rebound, an assist, a deflection and three steals; Senior Julian Alonzo had eight points, went 2-3 in free throws, had seven total rebounds, two assists and two steals; Junior Tristan Bagwell had two points with two rebounds, a deflection, a steal and three blocks; Junior Cam Johnston had two points with a steal; Junior Trill Young had two points and Junior Parker Webb had two rebounds.

Junior Dalton Booth had 13 points with two threes, went 1-3 in free throws, had a rebound, five assists, a deflection and three steals.

“This was Dalton’s season debut,” Barker said. “He is our best shooter, so we expect big things from him this year. This is his third year on varsity, so we will be relying on him to be one of our leading scorers/playmakers this season.”

The Harvesters hit the road this weekend for one final tournament before District play starts on Tuesday.

“We open up with Lubbock Liberty,” Barker said. “They are currently 8-0 and coming off a big win over Canyon Tuesday. They are a really good team, so that will be a tough game for us to open the tournament.

“Now that we are almost to full strength (still missing Isaiah Fernandez), this tournament will be big for us as far as team chemistry goes. This is the final tuneup before district starts on Tuesday, so hopefully we can shore up our rotation to be ready for district.”
