Homer Edward Brewer was born on April 2, 1938, to Homer and Eula Brewer in Arbuckle Island, Arkansas. He passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at 87 years old in Garland, Texas, after a brief illness.
Homer and Joan Brewer were long-time residents and business owners in Pampa, Texas before relocating to the Dallas-Fort Worth area to be closer to his family.
Homer Brewer was a 32nd-degree FreeMason and a Shriner, an accomplishment for which he took great pride in achieving. But his greatest pride and devotion in life was being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. As a life-long dog lover, Homer took comfort in knowing all his dogs would be waiting for him in heaven.
He will be remembered most for his devotion to family, and genuine love for life, people, and his pets. As he never met a stranger and lived to make someone laugh.
Homer Brewer was preceded in death by his parents Homer James Brewer and Eula Jean Martin, his sister Melba Bumphrey, and great-granddaughter Bonnie Grace Brewer.
Homer Brewer is survived by his wife of 65 years, Vivian Joan Brewer. They were married on May 8, 1959 in Reno, Nevada. His children are ReLinda Longan of Princeton, Texas and Robb Brewer of Fort Worth, Texas.
He had six grandchildren: Mitchell Brewer of Corinth, Texas, Christopher Longan of Haltom City, Texas, Hayley Hamilton of Borger, Texas, Lindsey Labrecque of Princeton, Texas, Kyler Brewer of San Antonio, Texas, and Gavin Brewer of Canyon, Texas.
Homer had 16 great-grandchildren.
