Ida Leaora “Lea” Stokes Welch Perry, 85, of Plainview, TX left this earthly world on Friday, December 2, 2022. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m, Sunday, December 11, 2022 with Rev. Neil Unwin officiating at Bartley Funeral Home

Leaora was born on March 15, 1937 in Lone Oak, TX to Maxine and Lonnie “LL” Stokes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Lonnie “L.L.” and Maxine Stokes, husbands; Jimmie Welch and James “J.R.” Perry, sister; Connie White, daughters; Susan Price, Jeanie Ritcheson, and Sharon Faulkner, grandson; Bryan Ritcheson, and great granddaughter; Candace Vernon.

Leaora was a member of the Grace Presbyterian/First Presbyterian Church of Plainview for many years. She loved spending time with family and friends, and made an impression on whomever she met. She was an avid reader, enjoyed painting, writing, traveling, and playing board games with family and friends. She was retired from OMI where she was a waste water treatment specialist and was also a retired Teacher’s aide from the Houston alternative school in Plainview.

Survivors include her partner in crime; Jessie Kennedy of Hale Center, Tx, her children; Wayne Welch and wife Diane of Lubbock, Tx, Bo Perry, David Wilhite and wife Lisa, Kay Bull all of Alma, Arkansas, and her son in-law Wesley Price. She also has fourteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
