Ina was born December 25, 1935 in Hamlin to Roy and Vernie Kelly. She married, at the early age of 15, Charles McDowell in Hamlin on August 12, 1951. They were married for 69 years before he passed away on February 10, 2021. They lived most of their lives in Floydada and at Lake Kemp. While she was in Floydada, she was the director of the Housing Authority for over 15 years. Ina and Charles took care of their son Kerry, after his accident, for over 30 years. They moved to Amarillo for a few years before moving to Pampa in 2020. Ina loved all sports, and she enjoyed playing tennis, but her real passion was fishing. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren while fishing at Lake Kemp. She was a lifelong Baptist and loved her Lord and Savior. Family was so important to her, as she loved it when they all gathered at Lake Kemp. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Irma Fay Carlton; brother, Dennis Kelly; daughter, Kellie Renee Potter; son, Kerry Dwaine McDowell; and a great great grandson, Koda Canida.

Survivors include her two son, Rick McDowell and wife Elaine of Miami and Andrew McDowell and wife Brenda of Plainview; she was known as “Nana” to her nine grandchildren, Camille, Zach, Chas, Jeremy, Reagan, Chrystal, Kendra, Kelsy, and Kazdy; 20 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.

Memorial can be made to Pampa Nursing Center, 1321 W. Kentucky, Pampa, Texas 79065.
