Jim was born September 1, 1939 to Telesfor Frank and Alice Belle Warminski Haiduk in Pampa. Jim was the third born of four boys and was raised on the family farm northeast of White Deer. He attended school in White Deer and graduated from White Deer ISD in 1958. Jim always held a fond remembrance of his school years and kept lifelong friendships with many of his classmates. After graduating from high school, Jim spent three years in the National Guard and was stationed in Fort Polk in Louisiana. He then moved to Dallas, where he lived for the remainder of his life. Jim was employed by Lockheed Martin and retired from there.
Jim had a love for horticulture, and a talent for flowers and making flower arrangements. Jim cared for his lawn and the adjoining neighbor’s lawns. He made a show place of their neighborhood. Jim won “Lawn of the Month” many times, with the most recent being this spring. He also was a talented artist. Jim created pencil renderings of the “original homeplace”, the Sphynx, pyramids, and the Coliseum. Jim was an avid collector, with his two most impressive collections being all things pertaining to ancient Egypt and over 40 model ships he assembled himself.
