Kathy Davis Guthrie, 73, of Pampa, passed away on June 2, 2023.

Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with John Curry officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. The funeral service will be livestreamed through the funeral home website.

Kathy was born June 24, 1949 to Lewis Keith and Jolynn Jones Davis. She was raised on the family farm that was established in 1921 by her grandfather, James Frank Davis. Kathy spent her early years working as a secretary. She worked many years for Southwester Bell Telephone Company and Grandview Hopkins School, where both of her parents were schooled in the 1930’s and 1940’s. Later she worked at Watson’s Garden Center. Kathy loved the greenhouse business, eventually opening up her own greenhouse, The Potting Shed.

On August 8, 2008, she married Stephen R. Guthrie. Kathy loved her husband and her family; she will be missed by all who knew her.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Keith, in 1989; her daughter, Keitha Davis in 2002; and her mother, Jolynn in 2004.

Survivors include her husband, Stephen “Gus” R. Guthrie of the home; two brothers, Lewis Davis and wife Debbie of Pampa and Frank Davis and wife Melody of Channing; sister-in-law, Shelly Duncan and husband Gerald of Angleton; nephews, Dave Davis and wife Natalie and Ryan Davis and wife Deborah all of Pampa, Jonathan Davis and wife Delani of Stinnett, Tye Cooper Duncan of Angleton, and Bob Mutina of and wife Tammy of Angleton; niece, Elizabeth Davis Richard and husband Jordan of New York City, NY; great nieces, Madison Davis, Kellie Mae Davis, Katie Grace Davis, and Kenedie Davis all of Pampa, Abigail Davis of Stinnett, and Krystal Peeler and husband Marc and Scarlett of Houston; great nephews, Drew Davis of Pampa, Elijah Davis and Ethan Davis of Stinnett, Josiah Richard of New York City, NY, and Brady Mutina and wife Rissa and Braden of Clear Lake.
