Kid Pony Show and Junior Rodeo runs this Saturday

The Top O’ Texas Rodeo Association’s annual Kid Pony Show and Junior Rodeo will be held this Saturday, July 22, at the Top O’ Texas / B & G Electric arena.

The Kid Pony Show will start the day off at 9:00 a.m. Little cowboys and cowgirls ages 8 and under will be competing in Mutton Bustin’, Golfette, Goat Ribbon Race, Stick Horse Barrel Race, Flag Race, Barrel Race, and Walk and Lead Barrel Race. This performance always provides lots of fun and entertainment for contestants and spectators alike. Buckles donated by Capital Farm Credit will be awarded to the Top 3 finishers in these events. Participant ribbons will be presented to all Kid Pony Show contestants.

The Junior Rodeo will begin at 7:00 p.m. Open to ages 9-18, contestants will compete in the Barrel Race, Pole Bending, Goat Tying, Flag Race, Calf Riding, Breakaway Roping, Tie Down Roping, Steer Stopping, Chute Dogging, Team Roping, Ribbon Roping, and Adult / Youth Team Roping. Winners of the various events will be awarded payback money plus added money. Added money is sponsored by Larry Baker Plumbing, Britten Feed & Seed, Carter Sand & Gravel, Elite Eye Care Texas, Amanda Jacobs Memorial, Jerry Rhoades, Top O’ Texas Oilfield Services, and X Cross X. Buckles will be presented to the All-Around Cowgirl and Cowboy of each group.
