Kozy Korner re-opens in Pampa

Porter Briggs re-opened the Kozy Korner, located at 712 W. Foster, in October after having to close during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The restaurant originally opened in 2019 and was a life-long dream of Briggs. The Kozy Korner offers a home-cooking style buffet.

“I bought the place in 2005, that’s when the nightmare started. It started as a dream and then became a nightmare,” Briggs joked. “I had my job so we would work on it and do what we could on the weekends and in the evenings. I retired from Cabot seven or eight years ago and could really jump into it.”

Briggs said Kozy Korner is unique in that he doesn’t really follow a menu.

“It depends on what I feel like I want to cook when I wake up,” Briggs said. “Just like you do at home. If you’re at home you don’t cook the same thing every day. We are like that. We like to rotate.”

Briggs said his most popular item so far has been his wife’s pork-chops and their chicken fried steak.

Currently, the restaurant has five people on staff.

Kozy Korner is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. They will be open on Thanksgiving from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
