The Pampa Lady Harvesters (6-8, 11-22) hosted the Dumas Demonettes on Tuesday evening with a spot in the District 4-4A playoffs on the line. The Lady Harvesters earned that playoff spot with a convincing 64-35 victory over the Demonettes. This playoff appearance will be the third straight for Head Coach Clint Watson.

“It speaks volumes about the type of student/athletes that we have in Pampa,” Watson said. “They work super hard day in and day out. To be able to earn a playoff spot four straight years in the district that we are in is remarkable.”

Senior Berlin Bartlett led the team in scoring with 25 points off two treys and went 5-9 in free throws; Senior Cambree Dyer had 16 points with two three-pointers and went 2-2 in free throws; Sophomore Kenna Kotara had six points and went 2-4 in free throws; Freshman Emmy Boutsamaly had five points and went 3-4 free throws; Senior Preslee Segura had five points with a three; Senior Briley Daniels had four points and Freshman Brooklyn Warren had a three.

“After a slow start to the game, we came out after half and took control of the game,” Watson said. “It was nice to see the girls playing so well. Our defense forced many turnovers and errant shots.

“We were able to score quickly in transition. Seeing the ball go through the hoop a lot in the second half was huge for our confidence. Getting a playoff-clinching win on senior night is super special. All the players in that locker room stepped up and helped us get to where we are. I am so proud of each of them and am blessed beyond measure to be able to coach them on a daily basis.

The Lady Harvesters first playoff game will be Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Lubbock High School against Midland-Greenwood. Harvester Sports Network plans to live-stream if given UIL approval. All rights belong to the UIL for playoffs and requests have to be submitted each round. The UIL also will not allow commercials to be aired so it will be muted during commercials.

They have the size advantage, but that’s something that we are used to by now,” Watson said. “I would like to see us get out in transition and push the tempo. We are going to use full-court pressure and use our tenacity and aggressiveness to our advantage.”
