The Pampa Lady Harvesters fell to 5-3 with a loss to Canyon Friday by a score of 8-4.
Despite outhitting Canyon 10-8, the Lady Harvesters could not string together hits when it counted the most. Pampa also fell victim to two double plays during the game, that killed scoring threats.
Maecie Hawthorne and Michelle Gallegos led that Harvesters with two hits each. Carsyn Hunt, McKinley Daniels, Briley Daniels, Kassie Arnzen, Cassidy Stanhope and Cambree Dyer each added a hit for the Lady Harvesters.
Pampa struck first scoring two runs in the top of the first. Caryn led off the game with a walk, and Briley drew a one-out walk. With two outs, Kassie lined 2-2 pitch to left center for a double, driving in Carsyn and Briley.
Pampa added one run in the third. McKinley singled with one out, and then scored on a double by Maecie. Canyon scored four runs in the bottom of the third to take a 5-3 lead.
Canyon added a run in the fourth, fifth and sixth to take a 8-3 lead going into the seventh. McKinley would score on a throwing error in the seventh for the final run of the game for the Lady Harvesters.
Maecie went the distance in the circle, going six-innings, allowing eight runs on eight hits, striking out two and walking five.
In other district 4-4A action, Dumas beat Hereford 19-1, Randall beat Perryton 27-0 and West Plains beat Borger 11-1.
