Lady Harvesters Move To 4-0 With Win Over Hereford

The Pampa Lady Harvesters moved to 4-0 in district 4-4A play and 12-2 overall, with an 11-1 win over the Hereford Lady Whitefaces on Thursday at Lady Harvester Field. Hereford drops to 0-4.

Hereford scored one run in the top of the first, but Pampa came out blazing in the bottom of the inning. Carsyn Hunt led off with a walk, stole second and scored an a single by McKinely Daniels. Briley Daniels then doubled putting runners at second and third. McKinely would score on a wild pitch. With one out, Maecie Hawthorne was hit by a pitch putting runners on the corners. Briley would eventually score on a wild pitch. Maecie would eventually score the fourth and final first inning on another wild pitch.

In the bottom of the second, Carsyn would reach first base on an error. McKinley laid down a sacrifice bunt, moving Carsyn to second. Briley then singled to left field, scoring Carsyn from second base. At the end of two innings, Pampa led 5-1.

In the bottom of the third, Pampa would add another run. Maecie led off with a double and took third on after tagging up on pop up in foul territory. Cambree Dyer would then hit a sacrifice fly to center field scoring Maecie to make it 6-1 after three innings.

Pampa would add four more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Ella Hudson led off with a walk, and Carsyn bunted for a hit. Ella took third on the bunt and Carsyn took second on the throw. McKinley then bunted for a hit scoring Ella from third. With runners at second and third, Briley doubled to left scoring Carsyn and McKinley. With one out and Briley at third, Cassidy Stanhope scored Briley on a sacrifice fly to center field. 

In the bottom of the fifth, and leading 10-1, Pampa would end the game after Michelle Gallegos walked, and Ella sacrificed her to second. With one out, McKinley lined a single to left field, scoring Michelle from second base. The game was then called due to the ten-run rule being in effect.

McKinley and Briley were both 3-3 and Carsyn and Maecie each had hits for Pampa as well. McKinley and Briley each had three rbi’s and Carsyn scored three runs. Pampa’s defense was error free on the day.

Maecie picked up the win going five innings, giving up one run on three hits, striking out four, walking three and hitting two batters.

Pampa will face Perryton in Perryton on Tuesday and then host the Randall Raiders on Friday.
