Lady Harvesters – Regional Quarterfinal Champions

The Pampa Lady Harvesters swept the West Plains Lady Wolves last week to claim the Regional Quarterfinal Championship for the second consecutive year. Pampa won game one at West Plains by a score of 4-1 Thursday and then at home in front of the largest crowd ever, defeated West Plains 6-1 to capture the gold glove.

In game one, Pampa would score three runs in the top of the third inning to take the lead. Kirby went the distance in the circle going seven innings, giving up six hits, one run with eight strikeouts and four walks.

Briley Daniels then drew a walk to load the bases. Kassie Arnzen then lined a 1-0 pitch to right center field for a bases clearing double, giving Pampa a 3-0 lead.

Pampa would add an insurance run in the fourth. Cambree Dyer led off with an infield single and would take second on a wild pitch. Haili Newton would then come into courtesy run for Dyer. Newton would eventually get to third on a passed ball and would score on another passed ball making the score 4-0.

Pampa would add two more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Cassidy Stanhope hit a one out double, Hawthorne would reach on an error putting runners at second and third. Dyer would then bunt for a base hit, loading the bases with one out. Gonzalez then hit a towering fly ball to center field that was caught at the fence. However, the center fielder fell down during the catch which allowed Stanhope to tag up and score from third and Hawthorne to tag up and score from second making the score 6-0.  West Plains would add a run in the sixth but would be unable to score again. Pamap would hold on for a 6-1 victory.

With the win, Pampa captures the Regional Quarterfinal Championship and will now advance to the Regional Semi-Finals for a rematch against the Burkburnett Lady Bulldogs. Pampa is now one of sixteen teams left in the 4A playoffs. Burk defeated Pampa in three games last season the Regional Semi-Final match.

Game one is set for Thursday at 5:30, game two Friday at 5:30 and the if game is set for Saturday at 1:00 PM. All games will be played at Frenship High School.
