Lady Harvesters Run-rule Borger 18-1

After losing four straight games, the Pampa Lady Harvesters got back on track with an 18-1 blowout over the Borger Lady Bulldogs.

Pampa would score in every inning, plating two runs in the first, three in the second, seven in the third, four in the fifth and two in the fifth. Borger scored their only run in the first inning.

Maecie Hawthorne was the leading hitter for Pampa, going 4-5, with seven RBI’s, including a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning. Cassidy Stanhope was a perfect 3-3 with two RBI’s, McKinley Daniels was 2-4, with five RBI’s, Michelle Gallegos was 2-3, Kassie Arnzen and Briley Daniels each added a hit for the Lady Harvesters. McKinley scored five runs, Michelle scored four times and Carsyn Hunt scored three runs for Pampa. 

Maecie Hawthorne went the distance in the circle, going five innings, giving up one run on two hits, striking out nine and walking four batters.

With the win Pampa moves to 6-4 in district play. In other action, West Plains defeated Hereford 12-1 and Canyon beat Perryton 26-2. The Randall-Dumas game was postponed due to weather with Randall leading 4-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning. The game will be completed on Monday at 4:30.

Next week Pampa will travel to Hereford on Tuesday and then host Perryton on Friday. The Perryton game will be Senior night at Lady Harvester Field and Pampa will honor the seven seniors. 

With four games left in district, Pampa is fighting to be one of the top four teams and advance to the playoffs.
