Lenoria “Nonie” Lasater, 97 years old, of Pampa, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 25, 2025, celebrating Jesus’ birthday with Him in Heaven. Born June 8, 1928, in Clovis, New Mexico, to Willard and Ella Mae Helmer, Nonie lived a remarkable and faith-filled life.
Nonie graduated as Valedictorian from Floyd High School in New Mexico and attended Eastern New Mexico University, studying Home Economics for two years. Her life took a new direction when she married AW “Tuffie” Lasater on December 26, 1947, becoming the devoted wife of a pipeline welder. Together, they traveled extensively in their trailer, Nonie always bringing her sewing machine along for the journey. Her adventurous spirit and flexibility led them even to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where they lived with their two children, embracing new experiences across the globe.
While living life on the road, Nonie became an exceptional seamstress and was known for her many talents. She was a gifted cook, baking a special banana nut cake for her daughter Connie’s birthday every year. Nonie also had a green thumb, cultivating lush and bountiful gardens wherever she lived.
Though gentle and reserved, Nonie had a warm and magnetic personality, making friends effortlessly everywhere she went. She was a devoted mother, always present and supportive, and deeply cherished by her family. In her own words, “I have lived a good life and loved every minute of it!” Nonie’s sweet smile and loving presence will be deeply missed.
Nonie was joyfully reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Tuffie; her parents; her only son, Doug Lasater; three grandsons, David Dunn, Brian Dunn, and John Sullins; son-in-law, Larry Edwards, and daughter-in-law, Becky Lasater.
She leaves to cherish her love of family, her daughter, Connie Edwards of Pampa; four grandchildren, Brady Dunn of Fritch, Lainie Casper and husband Clay of Balko, OK, Carla Davis and husband Heath of Amarillo, and Jennifer Sullins of Pampa; two great-grandchildren, Coplyn Casper and Conley Casper, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
