Linda Elaine Young, 77, of Pampa, passed away on December 28, 2022, at her home with her family and friends by her side.

Celebration of life memorial services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 7, 2022 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Chaplain Chris Birtles, officiating. An inurnment will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Linda was born on October 3, 1945, in Cordell, OK to James and Melvina Henry. She was raised in Oklahoma, but soon became a Texan. She married Ronnie Edward Young on July 4, 2001, who promised her from that day forward, she would be forever Young. She lived with Ronnie briefly in White Deer before purchasing their home in Pampa in 1999. Widowed in 2015, Pampa has remained her home where she has been forever Young. She loved her community and was loved by her community in abundance. Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Sister.

Linda took care of the home and loved the outdoors. She was strong and very independent. Rarely asked for help but know it was greatly appreciated. Linda had a close net of neighbors who loved her and adopted her as the neighborhood’s grandmother. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love was expressed not only in words but by her actions.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, James and Melvina of Cordell Oklahoma; husband, Ronnie of Pampa, Texas; and her half-sister, Evelyn of Cordell Oklahoma.

Linda is survived by a daughter, Tammey Smith and husband Brian of Weatherford, TX.; three sons, Gerald Goad of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, Cecil Yates and wife Kim of Weatherford, TX., and Ralph Yates of Granbury, TX.; brother, Jimmie Henry of Cordell, OK.; half-brother, Leon Peek and wife Rachel of Cordell OK.; nephew, Chevy Peek of Cordell OK.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
