Lynn Roy Marak, 77, of Pampa, Texas, passed peacefully from this life into eternal rest with his family faithfully keeping vigil by his side.
He was born on October 26, 1948, in Pampa, his lifelong hometown, to Eugene and Tracy Marak. Lynn was one of nine children and carried with him a deep love for family, hard work, and the place he called home.
After attending Pampa schools, Lynn began a long and successful career as a track hoe operator. He first worked as a pipeliner for K&K, later continued with Flint, and eventually joined Enerpipe, where he retired in 2017 after many dedicated years. His work as a heavy equipment operator took him across the United States, allowing him to do what he loved and excelled at.
Lynn and Renee Cox had known one another for a long time before he finally convinced her to go on a date. After a couple of years, she gave in completely, and the two were married in Las Vegas on June 28, 1982. Together, they built a life marked by devotion, companionship, and a love that stood the test of time.
Lynn was not one to sit still. He was always busy with a project, whether completely remodeling his home, laying a large brick driveway made of 10,000 bricks, or planting the trees that surrounded his property. A talented woodworker and carpenter, he could build nearly anything he set his mind to. Though often quiet until he got to know someone, Lynn had a cheerful, easygoing spirit and was always willing to stop what he was doing to lend a helping hand. He was a dependable provider, a devoted husband, and a wonderful daddy whose presence will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Monica Leonard; his grandson, Caleb Lee; and three brothers-in-law, Jon Coll, Bobby Wilson, and Chunky Leonard.
Those left to cherish his memory and honor his wishes include his wife of 44 years, Renee Marak of Pampa; two daughters, Kimberly Lee and husband David of Bixby, Oklahoma, and Kallie Payne and husband Kyler of Pampa; four brothers, Clarence Marak and wife Betty Lou of Arlington, Texas, Eugene Marak Jr. of Guymon, Oklahoma, David Marak and wife Kathy of Shamrock, Texas, and Jim Marak and wife Doris of Euless, Texas; three sisters, Theresa Coll of Roswell, New Mexico, and Caroline LaGrone and Patricia Wilson, both of Amarillo, Texas; one granddaughter, Taylor Simmons and husband Connor of Owasso, Oklahoma; and two great-grandchildren, Kyzer Lee and Chandler Simmons. Lynn is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members whom he loved.
In keeping with Lynn’s wishes, the family will not host Celebration of Life services. Cremation care has been entrusted to Winegeart Funeral Home.
