Margie Crisp-Spruell, 89, of Pampa, Texas, eagerly answered God’s call home on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, to spend eternity in Glory. She was born on September 4, 1936, in Frederick, Oklahoma.

Raised in Wheeler, TX and Dove Creek, Co, before making her home in Dumas, TX until fourteen years ago when she moved to Pampa, Margie had devoted about 25 years to the Dumas Memorial Hospital as a Dietitian and lead cook. Her passion and joy were socializing and cooking for others. She loved to cater to guests and lit up with excitement when she knew company was coming to her home. She certainly had an open-door policy, and all were welcome in. While working at the hospital, her menu and cuisine were so delicious, that people started going to the cafeteria for lunch from all over town, not just the patients – everyone. The CEO of the hospital started having board meetings at the hospital rather than in restaurants because her food was top notch! Margie certainly knew her way around the kitchen and once you tasted her delicious goodness, you knew it was made with love.

Margie also loved crocheting, embroidery, and sewing. She spent many hours with a needle and thread of some sort in her fingers creating beautiful works of art for others to cherish. In her later years, she started working faith-based crosswords and eventually began coloring pictures of scriptures and prayers for the family to enjoy. However, of all her hobbies and enjoyments, her most important and the one she devoted her heart and time to the most was her faith. Be it in prayer – she was an amazing prayer warrior, reading scriptures everyday or simply setting aside time for the Lord, she made sure it was always a priority.

Margie was awaited in Heaven by her parents, Minnie Tennessee Hawley-Skidmore and Owen O. Skidmore; her husband and the father of her six children, Calvin Wayne Crisp; a son, Stephen Crisp; her second husband and companion, Paul Spruell; 14 brothers and sisters and a son-in-law, Larry Reed.

Those remaining to share her love are her five children, Cody Crisp and wife Lisa Marie of Angleton, TX, Elaine Willis of Pampa, Charlene Hossack and husband John of Eldorado Hills, CA, Debbie Shugars and husband Gail of Gainesville, TX, Laura Reed of Pampa; a sister, Dora Winters and husband Leroy of Farmington, NM, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren whom she so adored. Margie treasured her grandbabies! She is also survived by an extensive host of family members who all loved her beautiful smile and kind heart.

Margie will be available for viewing on Sunday, December 14 th from 2 until 8pm at Winegeart Funeral Home in the Serenity Chapel.

Celebration of Life Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Monday, December 15, 2025, at Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum with Pastor Thomas Miller officiating. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
