Marilyn Keating, 71, of Pampa, passed away on December 6, 2022, at her home with family by her side.
Services are pending and memorial services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Marilyn was born on May 27, 1951, in Caney, Kansas to Glenn and Idella Giblin. As a young girl her family moved to Pampa where she grew up, attended, and graduated Pampa High School from the class of 69. Marilyn entered the workforce after graduating. She worked for the Marie Foundation for a few years, but later Marilyn went to work in the Oil & Gas industry as a Pumper at Getty and Texaco for several years.
Whenever Marilyn left the job force, she found enjoyment with her dogs and having coffee and enjoying the sunset. She was an extremely generous woman who put others before herself. Marilyn gave a lot of her time and resources to Alcoholics Anonymous making sure that everyone had support, especially on the holidays. Recently, Marilyn just celebrated 29 years of sobriety. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, friend, and missed by all her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jarod Barrett; and by a dear friend, Rose Yount.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Glenn Keating and wife Gail of Pampa; a sister, Lynn Giblin and wife Kaye Morgan, of Baltimore, Maryland; two grandchildren, Stephanie Young and husband Michael of Lefors, and Emily Anguiano and husband Michael of Pampa; seven great-grandchildren, Justice, Braxton, Mikey, Alison, Gatlin, Peyton, and Liberty; a best friend, Renee Sills of Pampa; and other extended family.
The family would like to extend gratitude to Inhabit Hospice and their nursing staff for their loving care of Marilyn and additionally to her friend, Renee who was always there for Marilyn.
