Mary Naomi Maggard, 86, of Pampa, Texas, joyfully answered God’s call home on Sunday, July 19, 2026, in Amarillo, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 13, 1940, in Baca County, Colorado, to John and Helen Harbert.
She was blessed with many talents, including a lifelong gift for playing the piano. From an early age, she used that gift to glorify God, playing for churches and revivals. It was through music and ministry that she met Albert while he was preaching in Campo, Colorado, and she was playing the piano. Their paths continued to cross, and on October 16, 1956, they were married in Springfield, Colorado. From that day forward, Mary and Brother Albert ministered faithfully side by side until his retirement.
After their marriage, the couple moved to Oklahoma, where Mary graduated from Southwestern Bible College. Throughout her life, she held many jobs, including positions at Alco, Lowry’s Music Store, Marie Foundations, Anthony’s, and Tarpley’s. She was also a wonderful Avon saleslady and even did ironing for several patrons. Of all the roles she filled over the years, the one that remained constant was that of a preacher’s wife, a calling she carried with grace and dedication. Yet her greatest earthly joy was being a wife, mom, and Gigi.
Mary’s hands were never idle. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery, planting flowers, playing the piano, writing songs, and playing games—especially Farkle and Wahoo. She loved the challenge of putting together 300-piece puzzles and was a wonderful cook, especially known for her manicotti. She also loved Hershey’s chocolate so much that her mother made Albert promise, before they married, that he would always make sure she had plenty—and he faithfully kept that promise. Mary could be ornery and a little mischievous at times. She loved to go fast, embraced adventure, and was always willing to go anywhere on a whim. Her love of life, her laughter, and her deep love for the Lord will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents; seven siblings, Delma Rodgers, Dolores Raines, Wanda Jenkins, Wilma Shaw, LaVelda Tingleff, LaVada Rodgers, and Danny Harbert; her son-in-law, Roger Baldwin; and a grandson-in-law, James Workman.
Mary’s love and legacy will be carried on by her devoted husband of 69 years, Brother Albert Maggard of Pampa; her two children, Adrian Maggard and wife Glenda of Midland, Texas, and Susan Baldwin and boyfriend Chris Keogh of Pampa; five grandchildren, Vanessa Nelson and husband Mike, Gregory Maggard, Autumn Flynn and husband Miguel, Kimberly Price and husband David, Bobbie Lee Roberts, and Duchess Blanton and husband Shawn; 13 great-grandchildren, Lily, Russell, Mikensey, Dylan, Zander, Ashlee, Marcos, Daxton, D’Andre, Dillon, Ashley, DJ, and Cody; and her beloved cat, Scarlet. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who loved her deeply and will greatly miss her.
If memorials are preferred, the family suggests donations be made in Mary’s honor to her church home, First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1700 Alcock St., Pampa, TX 79065.
A Celebration of Life Memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2026, at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Pastor Ron Noble officiating. The family has entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
