The Glo-Valve Service Dodgers broke into the win column with a big first inning in an 8-4 triumph over the Rotary Club Phillies Tuesday in Pampa Optimist 11-12 play.

David Buendia picked up the win, Glo-Valve’s first of the season.  Buendia struck out four, walked five and hit three batters.  He was charged with all four Rotary runs on one hit. Carson Rogers recorded a save.  He had two strikeouts and one walk.  He allowed no runs or hits.  Landry Choosen and Nathan Alderete pitched for Rotary.

Glo-Valve sent 12 batters to the plate in the bottom of the first.  They turned walks to Payton Pennington, Rogers, Zaylon Mitchell, Giovanni Ortiz, Weston Jones, Decklin Strong and Daniel Moncado, a hit by pitch to Buendia and an infield RBI single by Gentry Stanhope into seven runs.

Rotary got a run back in the top of the second on walks to Davey Ochol, Aaron Elkins and Isaiah Mara followed by an RBI single by Danny Ocho.  Rotary closed the gap in the top of the fourth scoring three runs on hit by a pitched ball to Elkins and Moore, walks to Antown Wight, Danny Ocho, Choosen and Jaston Cambern.

Glo-Valve added an insurance run in the bottom of the fourth on a walk to Rogers, a pair of stolen bases and a wild pitch.

Wright made Rotary’s outstanding defensive play of the game by chasing down a wild pitch and beating the runner from third to the plate.  Buendia picked off a runner at third with a throw to Moncado for Glo-Valve’s outstanding defensive play.

Stanhope was the leading hitter in the game going two for two, a run scored and one RBI.
