What an awesome week for Harvester Athletics. Lady Harvester Softball defeated Canyon in two games to win the Regional Quarterfinals round of the playoffs! They are one of 16 teams still playing in the state (district foe Dumas is another). They will take on Burkburnett in the Regional Semifinals this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (if needed) at Lubbock Christian University. Best of luck ladies! Harvester Track had three athletes compete in Austin at the State Track Meet Thursday and Friday. Madox Jones got to speak to Pampa Track legend Randy Matson on the phone before leaving to compete. Thank you to Randy for taking the time to encourage our student athletes. Madox finished in 6th place in Shot put, Emma Searl finished in 9th place in the Seated Shot Put, and Avery Ferguson placed 7th in the 100m and 9th place in his 400m wheelchair races. Great job Harvesters! Year-end activities are in full swing as the end of the school year looms large on the horizon. Pampa High School Career and Technology programs are continuing with their certification exams and have surpassed the 100 industry based certifications earned by students this year mark. All of these certifications are industry recognized and allow students to leave our campus and immediately enter the work force! We’re so proud of our staff and students as they continue this process as we have a few weeks left to up our totals. Monday night the Harvester Tennis team held their banquet and honored Coach Sarah Corse as she is headed to a well-deserved retirement. Thank you Coach Corse for your years of service and dedication to students and athletes. Tuesday night we hosted our Honor Banquet at M.K. Brown. This banquet honors our top 10% graduates for the class of 2023 and allows our students to honor a staff member who made a difference in their lives. It’s by far the most moving and inspiring banquet of the year. Thursday night our Lady Harvester Soccer team held their year-end banquet. Three Lady Harvester Soccer players were named to the Amarillo Globe News Soccer Team. Congratulations to Carolina Cano, Ariel Lacher, and Jackie Ruiz on making this team! PHS Choir held their banquet Friday night to highlight their accomplishments from this year and selected their next musical production.... “The Little Mermaid”. Be looking for this rendition coming in the fall. Last but certainly not least, Harvester Baseball player Tyler Reed was named to the THSCA Academic All-State team. We’re so excited for these final nine school days and for all that will transpire in the remaining days of school. It’s a great day to be a Harvester!
