Sally Irene White

On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, Sally Irene White, of Pampa, Texas, gracefully left this life, wrapped in the love of her family, who lovingly encouraged her on to Heaven, where her beloved Sam and Shawn were waiting with open arms.

Her story began on May 26, 1942, in Borger, Texas, when she was born to Jimmy and Ruth Blanks, and for 84 years she filled the lives of those around her with a love that will be felt for generations to come.

Sally was reared in Borger and attended elementary school in Spring Creek before starting Borger High School where she graduated in 1960, then went on to further her education from Frank Philips Community College.  While working at Minton’s Flowers, she met Sam White through his aunt and was smitten from the time she laid her eyes on him and knew in her heart that she would marry him one day.  Well, on June 9, 1961, they married and in 1971, they moved to Pampa and started a new venture together when they opened up Sam White Insurance Agency.  Sally was his administrative assistant for years keeping him in line.

For such a small stature, Sally had an amazingly eclectic personality – she loved so many things from crafting, thrifting, and an avid collector of all things to teaching both swimming lessons and even belly dancing!  She definitely didn’t just conform to “the norm” as most did, Sally was a beast as at the age of 75, she was still flipping tractor tires while attending Cross Fit classes.  She loved to run, bicycle and just simply go.  Not one to sit idle, she certainly passed on the gift of fitness to her family. She was on the Pampa Youth and Community Center board for years and many would say that place was her home away from home until her health prevented it.

Her big, beautiful smile and always cheerful disposition greeted all she encountered.  Sally loved to talk and could carry on a conversation with anyone willing to participate.  Parades were among her favorite things along with the military, the US, the flag and more importantly, what it stands for.  Regardless of what it was, Sally wanted to be right in the thick of any chaos – who wants to watch from the sidelines?  Although Sally was small, she was a giant in so many ways – she was fiery, fierce, loved life to the fullest and was the coolest mom and Gram ever!

Awaiting her arrival into Heaven were her husband and soulmate, Sam White; her son, Shawn White; parents, Jimmy and Ruth Blanks; a sister, Patsy Sanders; a brother, Phillip Blanks; and a brother-in-law, Bob Klaus.

Her cheerful smile, larger than life demeanor and genuine love of family will forever be cherished by her two children, Amber Sullivan and husband Brian of Pampa and James White and wife Clover of South Carolina; daughter-in-law, Christy White of Savannah, TX; two sisters, Fran Patman and husband Willie of Borger, Audrey Klaus of Borger; two sisters-in-law, Marie White and Norma Dear and husband John; and nine grandchildren, Claire White, Corey Herrera, Peyton White, Blaze Sullivan and wife Courtney, Paige White, Indy Sullivan and Skyler Huseman, Aspen Sullivan and fiancé Karthik Pottabathula, Tripp Sullivan and True Sullivan.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family members who will all miss her generous smile.

Sally will be available for viewing in the Serenity Chapel on Thursday, October 22, and Friday, October 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  A visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the family present to receive friends and loved ones.

A Celebration of Life honoring Sally is scheduled for 2:00pm, Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Briarwood Church with Pastor Jamisen Hancock officiating.  Burial will immediately follow at Fairview Cemetery.  The family has lovingly entrusted Sally’s care to Winegeart Funeral Home.

Should donations be preferred, the family suggests they be made to The Pampa Youth & Community Center, 1005 W. Harvester Ave, Pampa, TX 79065, in honor of Sally.

All whose lives were touched by Sally are warmly invited to share a cherished memory, a kind word, or a message of love for her family in Sally’s Book of Memories at www.winegeartfuneral.com
