Shelby Anne Whatley, 30 years of age, of Lefors, Texas, selflessly gave of herself to so many others as she donated her organs when she answered God’s call home on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in Amarillo completely surrounded by loving family and friends.
Shelby came into this world with a bang on July 4th , 1995, and left an everlasting impression on so very many lives.
While growing up, Shelby attended schools in both Lefors and Pampa. Upon entering the workforce, she wasn’t afraid of hard work and took to several difficult positions such as a guard for the TDCJ at the Neal Unit in Amarillo, she worked at Tyson Beef Packing Plant, began as a machinist at Titan before moving to the Shipping Clerk position she was currently working in and enjoyed. She had also worked with her dad, Jeff, when he owned Hoodz Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning company and came out covered in grease from head to toe!
Camping and fishing as well as riding four wheelers with her dad and siblings was always something she enjoyed doing. As with any typical girl, she loved hanging out with her friends, but once she had children – well, they trumped everyone and were her most treasured and favorite hangout buddies.
Shelby was the type of person that might be a bit difficult to break through her outer shell, but once you got to know her – you loved her and if she loved you – you can bet she loved you hard!
Shelby was a bit rowdy and loved to stir up trouble, especially in “Let it All Out In Gray County” if for no other reason but to just cause chaos! Living up to being born on the 4 th of July, Shelby was a spitfire and an absolute firecracker! She touched so many lives, whether it be through her orneriness, her beautiful laughter, her amazing blue eyes or her bubbly personality, she definitely left her unique print on many hearts and will never be forgotten.
She was greeted with arms wide open into Heaven by her mother, Mary Wilson who had preceded her in 2009.
Her love of life and laughter will be cherished by her two daughters, Kambra Whatley of Amarillo and Kaisley Stone of Memphis; her dad, Jeff Whatley and his girlfriend Catherine McDonald of Lefors; two brothers, Levi Whatley of Lefors, Tucker Huseman of Nazareth; two sisters, Mindy Cotton and husband Dillon of White Deer, and Briana Neelley and husband Jackson of Houston as well as her grandfather, Jim Whatley also of Lefors.
Shelby will be available for viewing on Friday, February 13 th from 1pm until 8pm, Saturday from 9am until 8pm, Sunday from 1pm until 8pm and again Monday from 9am until 11am at Winegeart Funeral Home in the Serenity Chapel.
