Sidney Whiteley Jackson, 90, of Pampa, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, in Pampa.

Services will be at 2:30 PM on Monday, May 15, 2023, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Chaplain Larry Virnau of AccentCare Home Health, officiating. Burial will follow at the Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Sidney was born on October 24, 1932, in Wheeler County, Texas to Sidney and Kansas Whiteley. She attended school in Kelton. On February 4, 1950, Sidney married the love of her life, Lee Jackson, in Wheeler. They moved to Pampa in 1950 and remained in the community ever since. The two were married for 71 years, before Lee preceded her in death on February 10, 2021. Sidney and Lee were long-time members at First Christian Church and had many friends in the community. They enjoyed travelling together in their RV. They also watched baseball almost every night in the spring and summer and knew every player on every team.

Sidney was a part of many different clubs and groups in the Panhandle throughout the years. She was an active member of The Pampa Senior Citizens, where she enjoyed playing bingo. She was a lover of live music, spending many evenings down at the Woody Guthrie Folk Music Center. Sidney was also a part of the Red Hat Society, Good Sams – Palo Duro Division, RV clubs, and several luncheon groups. Most of all, Sidney adored her family, enjoying every minute she could get with them. Sidney was a fun, spunky lady that will be missed dearly.

Sidney is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lee Jackson; two sisters, Vivian Riley and Betty Fillingim; and brother, Donal Whiteley.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Lee Snapp and husband Bill, and Julie Morgan and husband Joel, all of Pampa; four grandchildren, Shawna Snapp, Shellie Jewett and husband Chris, Cliff Spencer and wife Rainy, and Taylor Urquhart and husband Braden; great-grandchildren, Raylee Jewett, Reagan Jewett, and Maverick Urquhart, as well as an honorary great-granddaughter, Autumn Chapleau; and several other extended family members.

The family would like to thank caregivers, Shelli Hayes and Tonya Garza, for taking such good care of Sidney the last several months.
