Simply Bare: Featuring the ingredients to a good life

Closing in on a year this June, Simply Bare has quickly become a Pampa favorite in that short period of time. When the daughter of Adam and Heather Maul, Lexi tried an acai bowl in Amarillo she was a fan and wanted to start a similar place here in Pampa.

When she brought up the idea, Heather was working for Pampa ISD and wasn’t looking to for a new venture at the time.

After wrestling with the idea, towards the start of the pandemic, Adam and Lexi encouraged Heather to take the jump into what became Simply Bare.

Adam began researching the various options of store front business and food trucks to see what would benefit the new business more. After deciding on a food truck, Adam began scaling out the layout and chalking the drive way to plan for the arrival of the food truck before remodeling.

This business is a family affair, Heather and Lexi help to run day to day, while Adam & Landon help out when needed. Along with the family, Simply Bare has two other employees, Ray;n and Trish.

“The food we sell has no additives, it’s just healthy foods. We wanted to bring something healthy to Pampa.” Heather said. “We chose to do a food truck because it’s mobile and we can go anywhere, although we haven’t gone anywhere yet it’s still an idea.”

So far, the biggest challenge the truck has faced is the wind and weather elements. The food truck was the stepping stone for the Mauls to simply see what this could be like, but not totally eliminating a store front in the future.

While there are many current food trucks, Simply Bare was one of the first Pampa based food trucks, with many to follow after. Most often, Simply Bare can be found in the AT&T parking lot. The new business had test trials before officially hitting the road last June. The first test run was a small event held for family and friends after working out the recipes and ratios, helping to fine tune prep times and order fulfillment techniques for when they took the business public.

“A food truck like ours just feels authentic, and it’s just fun to drive.” Heather said.

This summer, Simply Bare plans to visit some of the local towns to branch out after receiving a large amount of requests. Simply Bare updates its Facebook weekly to keep patrons up to speed on where and when they will be out.

Simply Bare utilizes PampaEvents, a new website created by Paul Rayburn director of The Well (STEM Learning Center), to keep Pampa citizen up to speed of what is happening in Pampa.

By visiting the website, you can sign up for notifications of your choosing to stay in the know of what’s happening.
