It’s that time of year again, folks! Xtra Auto Center of Pampa is now holding their 5th annual bicycle giveaway where 24 lucky kiddos will get to scratch off that new bike from their Christmas list.
The 20 inch bikes are split evenly between 12 girls and 12 boys between the ages of five and ten.
This holiday event is something that the crew at Xtra Auto Center enjoys every year and to see the faces of these kids as they hop on their new bikes puts a smile on their faces as well. This year will make 120 bikes given away.
“This is something we always wanted to do but just never really had the space to do it, and this happens to be our 5th Christmas here in this building,” Jeff Stevens said. “This is just a little token of us trying to give back to the community.”
Jeff mentioned that last year, one of the winners from the drawing had had a tremendously bad day and the holidays were looking grim for this young man. When he was told he was the winner of a brand new bicycle, his eyes lit up and in that moment, that bad day had been turned completely around.
“Coincidently, everything that happened to him that day was the day we were doing the drawing and we pulled his name. She (his aunt) went in to tell him the news and it flipped his day for him. So they come in and she’s telling me his story. I mean, we had no idea. As soon as he got the bike, he goes outside and he’s doing laps out in the parking lot. That to me is worth it all. Just to know it made a difference.”
For those who would like to enter the drawing can do so by visiting their location at 1401 N. Hobart during their normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 6 PM. No purchase or test drive necessary!
The last day to enter the drawing is December 17 and winners will be announced per the contact information that was given on the ticket. You do not need to be present to win!
