A Weekend of Grand Openings

Posted

This past Saturday saw three grand openings, two for new locations of already established Pampa businesses, and one brand new business that has graced our town.

The Hype Salon

The Hype Salon, now located at 1534 N. Hobart, has settled into their new location and the stylists are excited to embark on this journey. Stylist and owner, Kayla Henry, said they had been wanting to move to Hobart street for the better part of a year, and since October, the crew has been working hard to make the spot their own, and as of Saturday, they officially have.

With their signature trio of black, pink and white, the fabulous salon front can’t be missed.

“We prayed about it and we just had it-it all fell together,” Kayla said.

“This was an opportunity for us-God created a way and we just took it,” Alicia Franklin said. “I really feel like this move is something that is going to open us up to so much more opportunity to be able to give back to the community because now we can be seen. We’re not tucked away downtown anymore, it’s so much easier and the location is fantastic.”

The Hype Salon offers multiple services, including extensions, coloring, cuts, lashes, among other services, as well as offering free haircuts twice during the school year. More details about the free haircut event will be released in the coming weeks. They also offer a head spa that they all swear will leave you feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to take on whatever the elements have to throw.

To book an appointment with these ladies, call 806-486-3483 or go online at thehypesalon.com. Walk-ins are welcome Monday through Saturday from 9:30 AM to 5 PM, but it’s best to call to make an appointment for a guaranteed spot and no-wait time.

El Paleton

Pampa’s newest business, El Paleton, located at 1542 N. Hobart right down from The Hype Salon, is the spot for sweet cravings, refreshing drinks, and savory build-your-own snacks.

The family-owned business has been in operation for about six years, and the Pampa location is their third with two others in Amarillo. They have their sights set on potentially opening more locations and even going nationwide. But as with any business, obstacles are around every corner, but their strength and determination comes through their unwavering faith.

“We’ve gone through a lot, but we stay in business,” said owner, Oscar. “My main thing is Phillipians 13, ‘I can do all things through Jesus Christ.’ I focus on that, and I had a vision to not just open up one, but in different towns or even nationwide. God has been great with my family and I.”

“Pampa is a nice community and I always had a good feeling about this town and that’s why I came here. We got started here in a little stand, and the guy who owned the building sold it overnight, so we were looking for a new place. I was driving around and saw this place was closed. There was a phone number here and I called, but there was no answer and no one called me back. About a month later, the number had changed, and I think it was a Godly thing. Everything I go through, I see it as a positive thing, so when I saw the number changed, that’s when I said, ‘this was God, this is the place.’”

The building was in rough shape when they moved in, but with hard work and help from members of the family, the place is completely immaculate and ready to serve.

“I want to thank my brother Carlos-we stayed here until two o’clock in the morning, painting, remodeling, doing windows, just everything. I want to thank God for giving me a wonderful wife, Liliana Trillo, because she’s super clean and wants things to be done the right way. She’s very detail-oriented, and that’s how we were able to do this and make it look professional and perfect. My son Allen Ramos helps us out a lot, and my daughter Jimena Olivas.”

El Paleton offers a variety of beverages, 24 flavors of homemade ice cream, 12 different natural flavors of water, snacks including Takis, Hot Cheetos, and Tostitos just to name a few, street corn, and many different flavors of popsicles. They also have student plate packs where they can pick their chips and have melted cheese, corn, queso fresco and jalapenos added. Guests can also build their own plates with many other toppings to choose from.

So the next time you’re in the mood for something sweet, something refreshing, or something to snack on, head over to El Paleton Monday through Sunday from 10 AM to 10 PM, closing at 11 PM on Friday and Saturday.

“I just want to thank the community of Pampa. I’m open to new ideas, and I always have open ears, because the only way to stay in business is if the customer lets me know if something is wrong. I don’t want anyone to be upset. I want everyone to come, enjoy, have a good time, and leave happy.”

Pampa Furniture Exchange & Mattresses Too

Now located at 1304 N. Banks, Pampa Furniture Exchange & Mattresses Too has expanded into a bigger building where their new showroom is a delight to walk through and do some pretty great shopping.

The store’s owner and manager, Melanie Bonilla, and the crew are excited about the move and are eager for everyone to see their new and impressive space.

“I love it here, it feels very homey here now. It’s big, but it feels very welcoming, and it’s like warehouse shopping with the way we have everything on display.”

Since 2021, Pampa Furniture Exchange has provided the community and surrounding areas name brand furniture, mattresses and appliances with payment plans to suit any need. Carrying everything from Ashley Furniture to Whirlpool washers and much, much more in between, Pampa Furniture Exchange is a one-stop shop for everything your home needs and then some.

Pampa Furniture Exchange offers flexible payment plans to help get that new piece of furniture or appliance into your home, inluding a plan that doesn’t require a credit check.

So if you’re in the market for that new couch or bedroom suite, head on over to Pampa Furniture Exchange & Mattresses Too Monday through Saturday 10 AM to 7 PM, and Sunday from 12 PM to 6 PM.

“We’re so grateful for the community and the support we had during the move. Everybody still trusts us and voted us #1 for the year, and it’s just been amazing. We are grateful to be here.”
