Bilingual Story Time

Posted

The Lovett Memorial Library will be hosting a bilingual story time throughout the summer. On Wednesdays from June 7th to July 26th, families can enjoy a bilingual story time at 10:00 am, 3:30 pm, and 4:30 pm. The story times will be available to all kids whether their first language is Spanish or English.

All children must be registered to attend. Children six and under must be accompanied by an adult. Register for story time online or in person.

The summer bilingual story times are made possible by The AmeriCorps program administered by West Texas A&M University. This program is a state and regional collaboration that serves the region by addressing challenges and closing gaps in access to opportunity.

AmeriCorps, both State and National, provide funds to organizations and agencies committed to using national service to address critical community needs in one of six areas: education, environmental stewardship, healthy futures, economic opportunity, Veterans and Military families, and disaster services.

In addition to the story times on Wednesdays, WT AmeriCorps will be at the library from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm providing bilingual services to those in need. These include job search, application, resume help,  GED Support on Spanish and English Tests, basic computer skills, budgeting skills, financial literacy, SNAP, ACP, or other assistance program applications.
