The 2021 Texas Legislative Session and the second and third sessions that followed, created changes for the future of Texas elections. One of these changes is to the application process for registered voters who would like to receive ballot by mail.

To be eligible to vote by mail a registered voter must meet one of the following criteria:

-65 years of age or older

-Disability

-Expected to give birth within three weeks before or after the election

-Expected absence from the county

-Confinement in Jail

Voters who fit the criteria to receive ballot by mail should be aware that they are required to request a ballot by mail application each calendar year.

The application forms have changed and require more information than they have in previous years.
