Derald Richard Spence was born December 17, 1945, in Chandler to Rex and Jewell (Gallaher) Spence.
He passed away January 6, 2025, in Oklahoma City at the age of seventy-nine.
Dick served in the Army where he completed four tours in Vietnam serving with the 11th Bravo Unit. He earned 2 Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star Metal, and the Army Commendation Metal.
Upon completion of his military service, he went to work in the oil field as a consultant.
He enjoyed guns, Harley Davidson motorcycles, fishing and hanging out at the local On-Cue gas station visiting friends.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Jewell Spence; brothers, Gerald Spence, and Jimmy Spence.
Survivors include his children, Rick Spence and his wife Lori, Krysti Horst and her husband Kenny, Scott Spence all of Texas; (9) grandchildren; (12) great-grandchildren; other family and many friends.
In true Dick Spence fashion, he will be laid to rest next to his mother in a private interment with no service to be held.
