The deadline to file an application for positions in the upcoming general election for the City of Pampa is Friday, February 14.
The positions available are for Mayor, Commissioner Ward 1 and Commissioner Ward 3 and those who wish to be placed on the ballot must do so by either filling out the packet on cityofpampa.org or stopping by the office before 5 PM this Friday.
The list of applicants running for Mayor are Paul Searl, Jimmy Chaney and Mike Borger. Applicant running for Commissioner Ward 1 is Wendi Miller Horst and the applicant running for Commissioner Ward 3 is Jimmy Keough.
Qualifications that must be met to run for the mayor and commissioner positions for the City of Pampa are:
• Be a United States Citizen
• Be 18 years of age or older on the first day of the term to be filled at the election or on the date of appointment
• Have not been determined by a final judgment of a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote
• Have not been finally convicted of a felony
• Have resided continuously in the state for 12 months and in the territory from which the office is elected for six months immediately preceding the deadline for filing an application for a place on the ballot
• Be a registered voter in the territory from which the office is elected as of the date of the filing deadline for a place on the ballot
• They must be a resident of Pampa,
• Shall not be delinquent in taxes owed to the city
• Shall never become guilty of a violation of Chapter 171, Local Government Code regulating conflicts of interest, or of violation of any penal code provision regulating the acceptance of gifts or abuse of official capacity
• Shall comply fully with Chapter 176, Local Government Code regarding disclosure of business and financial relationships with persons doing business with the City.

Early voting will begin on April 21 through April 29 in the Pampa ISD Administration building, located at 1233 N. Hobart, between 8 AM and 5 PM. Election day is May 3 at MK Brown between 7 AM and 7 PM.
