George Franklin “Frank” Yearwood, 80 years old, of Pampa, Texas, passed away while family surrounded him at BSA hospital in Amarillo. He was born on March 30, 1943, the youngest of seven children, to George F. and Cora Belle Yearwood in McLean, Texas.

Frank graduated from McLean High School with the class of “61” and then on August 19, 1963, he exchanged vows with his best friend and soulmate, Carrol Brewer, in her hometown of Watonga, OK. The two of them shared a lifetime of love and memories and were only two months shy of celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. In 1969, at the age of 26, Frank began what would ultimately become his lifelong career at Cabot and withstood numerous buyouts and name changes in his 36 years of employment to eventually retire from IRI International in 2005.

Although Frank didn’t further his education following high school, he enjoyed learning and continued to read, study and gather information furthering his knowledge allowing him to tackle any task or obstacle he encountered. His wealth of knowledge became quite handy when family and friends needed help and Frank was always willing to jump in and lend a hand.

According to Carrol, he was an avid “piddler” and although he didn’t have one or two favorite hobbies, he piddled in a vast array of activities over the years from dancing (his mother taught him well), fishing, traveling with Carrol to visit family and maybe hitting a casino or two along the way, to golfing, playing card games, then eventually computer games and watching any movies – he wasn’t particular as he enjoyed them all! He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and used to call Bingo, play pool, and even sing karaoke. However, his favorite pastime was very simply being an extremely proud dad and granddad. Frank was a very diverse man whose interests covered a wide spectrum with family always at the center. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers as well as his only sister.

Those left to carry his memories in their hearts are his wife and best friend of 60 years, Carrol Yearwood of Pampa; son, Robert Yearwood and wife Krista of White Deer; daughter, Jo Quarles and husband Erick of Gore, OK; four grandchildren, Brian Yearwood, Tyler Quarles, Astin Yearwood, Nicole Pettigrew and 10 great-grandchildren, Adam Yearwood, Avery Quarles, Emily Quarles, Dillan Yearwood, Kyree Yearwood, Alissa Yearwood, Elly Yearwood, Jaiden Barnes, Blake Barnes, and Ethan Pettigrew as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Friday, June 30, 2023, in Winegeart Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 300 W. Browning Avenue. The family has entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
