Gonzalo Chavez is a man on a mission: to serve the Pampa community in more ways than one.
Earlier this year, he opened up GoGo’s Place, a drive through food establishment that specializes in mouth-watering smoked chicken plates, quesadillas and flautas with a full breakfast menu to get your day started on the right foot.
Just one building down is the old laundromat and after some consideration a couple of months ago, Gonzalo decided to jump on the opportunity to open it back up after its previous owners had personal issues to tend to.
And while the previous owners had renovated it to get it up and running, it was only open for a few months and there was still a lot of work that needed to be done.
Gonzalo invested a lot of his own time and money to fixing up many of the washing machines and dryers that were inoperable and is currently in the process of replacing the floor to something that makes more sense for a laundromat to have.
And although he is still working on renovations, he wants to assure the community that the laundromat is open for business. But many of the long-time customers of that particular laundromat over the years are already aware of its reopening, and some are even taking advantange of the wash & fold service that it now offers. Just seeing the cars in the front of the building tells you that folks are glad to have it back.
It has always had an appealing location right there on Hobart Street, but it couldn’t be better for Gonzalo considering GoGo’s Place is just a stone’s throw away, giving the laundromat customers a chance to try some of that cluckin’ good chicken while they wait on their laundry.
GoGo’s Laundromat’s hours are Monday through Sunday from 8 AM to the last wash at 8 PM and is located next to GoGo’s Place at 725 N. Hobart.
Gonzalo is excited to take on this new business venture and strives to continue to serve the community that he loves so much.
