Joyce was born on February 9, 1951, in Fayette, Alabama to Woodrow and Murray Robertson. As a young girl, her family moved to Texas, living and attending school in both Pampa and Amarillo, and she later graduated from Palo Duro High School.
Joyce would begin her young family by having her son, Eddie, and her daughter, Edie. She did clerical work in the oil & gas industry for a few years before her tenure in retail.
After the kids grew up, Joyce would travel and work in various places before she returned to the panhandle, she spent a few years in Canadian, and then back to Pampa, where she has resided ever since.
While in Pampa, she worked at Wal-Mart for several years where she made many lasting friends.
Joyce had a soft spot for animals, and she liked taking her dogs for rides in the car and walks at the City Lake. She also enjoyed doing genealogy and ancestry research in regard to her family’s history.
Joyce was a good friend who often put others’ needs before herself, and she will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and by a brother, Stanley Robertson.
Her survivors include a daughter, Edie Davis and husband Brent; son, Eddie Cannon; grandchildren, Brenna Davis, Megan Cannon, and Ashleigh Sutton; good friends, Betty Reames, and Wynona “Punkin” Gilleland; and other extended family.
