Kathryn “Katie” Hoover Bryant, 86, of San Marcos, Texas, passed away on August 28, 2023. She was born on August 25, 1937, in Lefors, Texas, to the late Warren and Mabel Hoover. Katie served as the Treasurer of the Pampa Water Disposal for many years.

Katie, as she was affectionately known, was an intelligent and loving woman who had a kind and compassionate heart. She was a family-oriented individual and cherished spending time with her loved ones. Katie had a remarkable ability to connect with people and never met a stranger. She possessed a warm and welcoming personality that made others feel instantly at ease in her presence.

In her free time, Katie enjoyed listening to music and attending concerts. She had a deep appreciation for the arts and found great joy in the melodies that resonated with her soul. Katie was also a storyteller, particularly fond of sharing loving tales from her life in Pampa. She took pleasure in reminiscing about her experiences and delighted in recounting her cherished memories. Additionally, she took immense pride in her nieces and nephews, often sharing stories of their accomplishments and adventures.

Katie is survived by her beloved husband, Bill Bryant, and her loving, devoted son, Marcus Bryant. She was preceded in death by her father, Warren, her mother, Mabel, and her siblings, brothers, Bart and Gladys, Chuck and Helen, Lee and Vicky, as well sisters, June and Fred Daggett, and Mary Jean and Gene Mayfield.

In memory of Katie, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Hospice Foundation of America. Hospice care had been immensely helpful to her family, and any support would be greatly appreciated.

Katie’s warm presence, loving nature, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
