The summer reading program at the Lovett Memorial Library in Pampa is always one of the most anticipated events of the season, where kiddos with growing minds and big imaginations can have a blast with plenty of fun and educational activities in a safe environment.
This year’s theme took a blast way back in the past with dinosaurs, and this week, world-renowned magician Kyle Groves mixed both magic and dinosaur into an unforgettable and hilarious show.
He wowed the packed auditorium of children and parents with impressive magic tricks, telling a colorful story behind each one, and his interactions with the kids brought smiles and laughter as they assisted him in a few of his magical workings.
‘Kyle Groves’ journey into the world of magic began almost from birth, growing up in a family deeply rooted in the art of illusion. Guided by his parents — the renowned magicians known as “Mr. E” and Kathleen — Kyle was immersed in the traditions of live magic and theatre from his earliest years, learning firsthand the timeless art of audience connection, sleight of hand, and theatrical presentation.’
The Groves family has traveled all over the world performing in front of audiences young and old, bringing smiles to faces and laughter from the belly. His lifelong dedication to the art of illusion and master storytelling has earned him numerous awards and recognitions around the country.
And if there’s anything that Kyle could possibly love more than entertaining the masses, it’s getting the kids excited about reading, and the majority of his summer shows are performed in local libraries where he is doing just that, and the Lovett Memorial Library just happens to be one of his favorite stops.
“This is such a fantastic program and I always love seeing all the kids that come here,” he said. “It’s always such a blast, and hopefully they continue to love their library long after they’ve grown up.”
Kyle and his wife Kendra are the creators of The Amarillo Magic Co., a 25-seat theater, located at 5208 S.
