Lady Harvesters Move to 3-0 with 20-0 Win Over Hereford

Coming off an emotional 3-2 victory over Randall last week, the Pampa Lady Harvester Softball team traveled to Hereford to take on the 1-1 Lady Whitefaces on Tuesday afternoon.

This game was all Pampa from the very start. In the top of the first inning, Pampa would score five runs. With one out and Carsyn Hunt at 2nd and McKinley Daniels at 1st , Kynleigh Kirby hit a three-run home run to center field. With two outs, Hallie Hawthorne would hit a solo home run to right-center field. Maecie Hawthorne singled to right field and advanced to second on a throwing error. Maecie would eventually score on a double by Reagan Dyer.

In the top of the second, Pampa would add seven more runs. Hunt led off a single, Daniels followed with a double to left field putting runners at second and third and no outs. Cassidy Stanhope followed with a bunt single to load the bases. Kirby would draw a walk that scored Hunt. Then with one out, Hallie Hawthorne hit a grand slam to center field to clear the bases. Not be out done, Maecie Hawthorne followed with a solo home run to center field. It was Maecie’s first career home run. Pampa would add a final run in the second inning, when Reagan Dyer reached second base on an error by the right fielder, and scored on a bunt single by Briley Daniels.

In the third inning, and Pampa already leading 12-0, they would add four more runs. Stanhope led off with a double and scored on a single by Kirby. Hallie Hawthorne then singled to score Kirby. Hallie would eventually score on a single by Reagan Dyer. With two out, Cambree Dyer singled to center field, scoring Reagan Dyer from second base.

Pampa would add three runs in the top of the fourth inning. McKinley Daniels led off with an infield single and stole second base. With one out, Kirby singled to score Daniels from second base. With two outs, Hallie Hawthorne singled to left field, scoring Kirby. Myrna Ramirez was hit by a pitch, putting runners at first and second. Reagan Dyer would then single up the middle to score Hallie from second.

Leading 19-0, Pampa would score one final run in the top of the fifth. Cambree Dyer reached on an error, Hunt had a bunt single and McKinley Daniels reached on infield single to load the bases. Cambree would then score when Stanhope bunted and reached on an error by the Hereford pitcher.

Kynleigh Kirby threw a complete game, going five innings, giving up no runs on one hit, striking out 13 batters and walking two. Pampa will play Perryton Wednesday at noon at Lady Harvester Field.
