Lady Harvesters Move to 5-0 with Win Over Borger

The Pampa Lady Harvesters improved to 5-0 in District 4-4A play with a win over the Borger Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday by a score of 11-1. Borger dropped to 2-3 in district play.

In the top of the third inning, and the score tied at zero, Maecie Hawthorne got Pampa on the board with lead off solo home run to left center field. It was Maecie’s third straight game with a home run. With one out, Carsyn Hunt was hit by a pitch. McKinley Daniels bunted for a single. The throw got away form the first baseman into right field, and Hunt would circle the bases and score the second run of the game for Pampa. With two outs, Cassidy Stanhope lined a double to left-center field. Kynleigh Kirby followed the double with a long home run to right center field, giving Pampa a 4-0 lead.

Pampa would a run in the top of the fourth, when Cambree Dyer hit a one-out single to field. Dyer would take second and third on a wild pitch and would eventually score on passed ball.

In the top of fifth, Pampa would add three more runs. With one out, and after back to back walks to Stanhope and Kirby, Brianna Cloud reached first base on a bunt loading the bases. Hallie Hawthorne would draw a walk, scoring Stanhope. Dyer would then line a single to center field scoring Karina Gonzalez, who was in to courtesy run for Kirby. With the bases loaded, Maecie Hawthorne would ground out , scoring Dyer from third base.

For good measure, Pampa would add three more runs in the top of the sixth. Hunt led off with a single to center field, took second on a passed ball. Daniels walked, and Hunt and Daniels would reach third and second on a passed ball. Stanhope would then deliver a double to left field, scoring Hunt and Daniels. Stanhope would eventually score on passed ball.

Kynleigh Kirby once again went the distance in the circle for Pampa, pitching six innings, giving up one run, on two hits, striking out eleven and walking three.

With the win, Pampa keeps stays in a first-place tie with Dumas at 5-0. Pampa will travel to Canyon Friday to take on the Canyon Lady Eagles. In other Friday action, Hereford travels to Randall, Duams hosts Borger and Perryton travels to West Plains.
