As a point of clarification to certain misinformation regarding this case that has been shared on social media, yes, our department did have contact with Mr. Keller on 2/4/25 at approximately 11:15am. On that day, Officers received a report of a person whom the caller didn’t recognize that was in the area of the incident address. Upon being contacted by Officers in the alleyway behind the 1300 block of Garland, Keller stated that he was looking for his dog that had ran off from his residence. Officers verified through several 3rd parties that Keller lived there and cleared the scene. During this time, Officers had no information that would have led them to believe that Keller had committed, or was planning to commit this heinous act. There are no reports or call records of previous family violence between the two parties.
