Beginning Monday, June 16 the north SH 70 bridge at I-40, just east of Groom will be closed for safety improvements. The upgrades include repairs, new bridge rails, and a concrete overlay. Due to the bridgework, drivers can expect varying single-lane closures below the bridge on I-40 during this time. Traffic will be detoured down the frontage roads to south SH 70.
Detour signs will be in place to guide drivers throughout the project limits. The work is expected to be completed by the end of September.
Please drive with caution and reduce speed through all work zones. All projects are subject to change due to weather, emergency work and other unexpected events.
