The TEA Accountability Ratings evaluate districts and campuses across Texas on academic growth, readiness for postsecondary opportunities, and efforts to close achievement gaps. Pampa ISD’s strong performance underscores its commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

“We were able to get three distinctions based on our campus academic progress and achievement that happened over the past year,” Pampa High School Principal Clay Jones said. “We were blessed enough to earn those three and we’re super excited about it because we haven’t earned a distinction since 2019.”

“I’m so proud of our kids and our staff for the work they put in and now I’m just really excited they got awarded for all that work in such an awesome way.”

Clay also gave an update on the progress of the construction happening for the new CTE addition and how the students and staff have adjusted to the new changes so far this school year.

“Construction is going good and we are on schedule right now. The construction is divided in three phases, so Area A is the area that is extending from our old building westward and they’ve got the pad already made there and they’re starting to work on the footers. Then they’ll start working on the foundation and underground plumbing, and while that’s going on, they’ve already moved to Section B excavating that area where our fine arts, culinary arts, and theatre arts will be, which we are going to call Harvester Hall. It’s going to have flexible seating options where we can host a variety of events inside. Once we get done there and move to Section C, you’ll actually start seeing something other than dirt getting pushed. I’m really thankful for the progress. I was actually just out there coming back from a meeting and was just kind of watching it-it’s changed so much even today from what it has last week!”

“We were able to move everyone last year, and our kids are resilient. I think it was a little harder on the teachers, but we’ve all settled in to kind of being displaced. Our band is now over in the CTE building which is good for them because they’re closer to their new practice lot, and choir is in the library. We were able to find a classroom and build a stage for our theatre arts people. So we’re definitely learning to love one another because we’re very tight, but that’s a good problem to have,” Clay laughed. “They’re telling me that April of ‘27 is when we’ll be moving in, and I know that sounds like a long time, but it’ll be here before we know it!”

Congratulations to both Pampa Junior High and Pampa High School on this well-deserved achievement!
