After nine years, Arieon Keller’s dreams have finally come true as she heads out to Nashville, TN to audition for American Idol!
“I was in my living room with my dogs and I was just looking through my emails and found it,” the rising star said. “I was just kind of like, ‘is this real or is this just a scam?’ But I looked into it and sure enough it was real. I called my grandma and said, ‘grandma, you won’t believe this!’ We were both in shock.”
For the last nine years, Arieon had applied for not only American Idol, but for The Voice and America’s Got Talent, with the intention of using her voice combined with a global television show to spread the word of God.
“I really wanted to do the last season because it was an all-Christian season, and now that Carrie Underwood is on there I just knew I had to get on there this year because she’s a Christian girl too.”
After trying to figure out what specific song she wanted to perform for the star-studded judges panel, she settled on a mashup of Goodness of God and The Blessing.
Although her audition is set for this Friday, June 6 and Arieon will know right then and there whether she makes the cut or not, she will have to keep the results hush-hush until the episode airs next February, a secret that will undoubtedly be hard to keep.
A good luck sendoff for Miss Arieon is set for today at 3:30 PM starting at the Coffee Shop, located at 220 N. Cuyler in Pampa, so be sure to help give this lovely lady a proper departure as she takes on what will certainly be one of the biggest adventures of her life!
“Thank you to everyone that has supported me, I wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without those people that helped me when I needed it. I’m just really thankful for everyone who supported me before I even really got anywhere with my music and was just singing in church.”
“My uncle put it in the best way there is: ‘You’re planting the seed for basically the whole world to learn about the Gospel.’ It’s just such a powerful thing. I wouldn’t be where I am now without God and I’m just super excited for what comes next.”
