It was a historic season for the Lady Harvester Softball team and sadly they were defeated this weekend in Lubbock by Burkburnett. This group has made us so proud and we are so thankful for their work, determination, and how they united our community during their deep playoff run. This group made the deepest playoff run since 2014. Besides softball coming to an end, it was a week of celebrations at Pampa High School. Monday was our annual Awards Assembly where we got to honor our seniors, academic organizations, and outstanding students. Our senior class walked away with over $842,000 in scholarship money as well as numerous accolades. Monday afternoon our graduates visited the Junior High and elementary campuses for their senior walk. It’s always so cool to watch them in their full graduation regalia interact with our young Harvesters and their previous teachers. Thank you to our other campuses for allowing us to celebrate with you! Tuesday, Harvester Soccer athletes Justin Martinez and Samael Munoz signed to play soccer at Paris Junior College. Best of luck next season and represent us with pride! Tuesday evening, PHS hosted the 8th Grade Awards/Promotion Ceremony. It was a wonderful night with a packed house full of Harvesters! Wednesday was our Decision Day where seniors got the opportunity to talk to our underclassmen about their plans after high school. A huge thank you goes out to our counselors for their work on getting that set up. Thursday night our choir students got to showcase their talents one last time this year at the annual Variety Show. A big congratulations goes out to PHS Art student Wyatt Johnson on winning 1st place in the National History Museum Art Contest hosted by Amarillo College. His artwork will be auctioned off to benefit the museum and Wyatt received a $1000 scholarship! PHS Cybersecurity students Jesus Bernal, Luis Salazar, Johann Miranda, and Seth Sandoval competed this week on the Cyberstart platform. Out of the 42,000 students who competed, they took a spot in the 5,500 semifinalist. They earned a $5,500 scholarship to pay for a cybersecurity course and certification that they will complete this summer. Way to go boys! And last but certainly not least, PHS FFA students competed at WTAMU in the Area 1 FFA Convention and walked away with some new banners to display with pride! This year as flown by and we are excited to close out this year at Graduation on Saturday. It’s a great day to be a Harvester!
