Realtor® Day At The Texas Capitol Draws Large Crowds And Impactful Discussions At The Texas Capitol

Posted

Pampa, TX– March 27, 2025 – More than 3,000 REALTORS® from across Texas came to the Capitol March 26 to visit with elected officials about issues important to real estate, business, and property owners. This biennial grassroots advocacy gathering, REALTOR® Day at the Texas Capitol, provided the opportunity for REALTORS® to speak up for homeowners, buyers, and communities across the state. Members of Texas REALTORS® met face-to-face with their representatives, sharing real data and stories about how proposed policies would impact homebuyers, sellers, property owners and communities. By hearing directly from REALTORS® who work in the field every day, legislators gained a clearer understanding of how their decisions shape the real estate market.

Representatives  from Pampa Association of Realtors, Maxine Watson and Lilly Brewer, were fortunate to meet with HD 88 Representative Ken King in person to discuss not only key bills that Texas Realtors are watching but also discuss his work regarding Wildfire Legislation that directly effects our communities.  As Chairman of the State Affairs Committee Chairman King has a full schedule and he always makes time for his constituents, we were so pleased to have the opportunity to thank him in person for all his time and commitment to our District.

“It’s so gratifying that thousands of our members took time away from their everyday business to come to Austin for REALTOR® Day,” said Christy Gessler, 2025 Chairman of Texas REALTORS®. REALTORS® showed once again that we are a driving force in policies that benefit our clients, fuel economic growth and shape the future of Texas. Through these meetings, Texas REALTORS® give lawmakers the insights they need to foster our thriving real estate market, a crucial sector responsible for 17.8% of the Texas economy.”
