The first Saturday of each month the Texas Panhandle War Memorial hosts a one-hour lecture/seminar, “Reflections on the Military” on topics related to military history and service. These lectures/seminars are free to the public. They are held at the Texas Panhandle War Memorial Center, 4111 S. Georgia, at 1:00 p.m. Snacks are available to the attendees.
This Saturday, April 6, our guest speaker is Musaab Alyhayatt. Musaab presently works at the Amarillo MEPS in the Human Resource Department. Originally from Iraq, Musaab served as an interpreter for Civil Affairs and high-ranking US officials in Baghdad from 2003 to 2006. Musaab will discuss his experience as an interpreter during war time.
Take advantage of this free presentation and tour our military history education center and museum, test your knowledge in our high-tech Education Center with five computer kiosks displaying information about 11 U. S. wars, and visit our outdoor displays including a Huey helicopter, supersonic jet fighter/bomber, a piece of the USS Arizona deck and superstructure, and our monuments to over 1,550 Panhandle residents who gave their lives in wars. We encourage you to visit our museum Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free for all attendees.
