Rep. Jackson Secures Funding for Texas Farmers

Posted

WASHINGTON — Last night, legislative language authored by Congressman Ronny Jackson (TX-13) to support Texas’ farmers passed on the Floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. The approved language includes disaster recovery funding for farmers who have been impacted by winter storms and freezes in 2020 or 2021.

Jackson said: “In Texas, agriculture production is critical for our economy and food supply. The historic winter storms we experienced this year resulted in over $600 million of agricultural losses, leaving many crops destroyed. This funding will go a long way to support farmers as they recoup losses and fully restore their operations. I am proud to have secured this important win for our farmers and know that I will not stop here. I am committed to being a strong voice and legislator for Texas’ ag community in Congress!”

Jackson serves as Co-Chair of the Texas Agriculture Task Force.
