Lovett Memorial Library participated with other libraries across the country in honoring Smokey Bear for his 80th birthday.
We had outdoor reading programs each month and read books, painted rocks, did chalk pictures and other activities. We even had a Smokey Bear Reading Challenge and Anberleigh M. read 599 books for this challenge. We also had a few boys, Luke K., Kyle K., and Seth C., that participated in most of the outdoor activities at the library.
There was a total of 3,251 books read for our Summer Reading Program and the Smokey Bear Challenge by 40 kids that turned in reading logs.
Thank you to all the parents and children that came to these programs and thank you to the Friends of the Pampa Library for supporting these activities.
Be watching for a new challenge to start in 2025…I heard a certain cartoon is turning 75 this next year and we want to celebrate their birthday with a special party along with special monthly dates for reading and family activities!
