Last Friday, Toot ‘n Totum kicked off their annual Spirit Pump Program in an effort to give back to their communities and strengthen their commitment to supporting school safety across the Texas Panhandle, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
“We came here to today celebrate the kickoff of our Toot ‘n Totum Spirit Pump,” said John Lutz, Vice President of Fuel and Marketing for Toot ‘n Totum. “The Spirit Pump is Toot ‘n Totum’s way to celebrate not only being a local company, but also to help schools in all of our areas. We all live and work in these communities, and we have people who have sons and daughters, neices and nephews here at this location in Pampa. Our way of giving back is what we call our Spirit Pumps.”
“We have about 40 different schools we do this with where we have a specific pump at one of our locations, and every time a guest fills their car, for each gallon of gas, we donate 5 cents back to the school. Those monies are earmarked for specific school safety programs. These things have gone for stuff like camera systems, controlled-access systems, and anything that will improve the safety at our schools. We feel strongly that anytime we can improve the safety and improve the learning environment, that is an investment directly into the community.”
“It’s really a part of Toot ‘n Totum’s culture and it comes from ownership and leadership-it’s about giving back. It’s a direct reflection of what makes Toot ‘n Totum special. This is our 75th year, and a cornerstone of that success has been being a good local partner.”
The Spirit Pump at the Pampa location, 1515 N. Hobart, is Pump #1, and you certainly can’t miss it with the Pampa Harvesters logo on it front and center, designed by Toot ‘n Totum Lead Graphic Designer, Tyler Mitchell who actually lives in Pampa.
The campaign will run from now until the second week in December, and residents can track the progress of each school for their area through the Toot ‘n Totum website, tootntotum.com/spiritpump. Progress is updated every Monday.
